"I cannot underestimate how important this release is to me, as this was one of the first Harsh Noise projects i got super into shortly after discovering the genre...so in a way this release brings everything full circle and is special/sentimental to me personally -- going from acquiring an Ex Jesus mini CD-R in 2005 to releasing an Ex Jesus tape 20 years later.
Josh is also known for being half of the duo Moth Drakula, a now legendary southern California project that was very active back in the day and associated with labels like Troniks and Swampland Noise. To the delight of many noise fans, both Moth Drakula and Ex Jesus have become more active again in recent years and needless to say, it is great to have them back in the game!
Josh seems to exist in a realm where he is doing noise more for himself than anyone else, without a strong desire for recognition or praise. To put it simply, he is not an artist who asked labels to do releases or actively tries to perform live -- rather, he will sometimes reluctantly self-sacrifice and succumb to the pressure and demand for him to do releases and live performances, stepping out of his comfort zone as a gift to the fans...and with all of his recent activity, it's a great time to be an Ex Jesus fan."
